It is every individual’s responsibility to take care of the environment he/ she lives in. But today the environment is under serious threat from air pollution, water pollution, deforestation, e-waste, etc. It is this genuine concern for the environment that led us to take the initiative to do something to protect it for the present and coming generations. This is how the ‘Go Green’ initiative became a part of GSTi India. Each and every employee in our company is well aware of the environmental issues and each of them very keenly takes interest in supporting all the activities related to environmental issues. As a part of the ‘Go Green’ initiative, we have pledged to use less electricity and make our office a paper free one. |
Here are some of the things that we follow in our office as a part of our commitment towards the environment:
- Print wisely: Printing documents is a regular activity in office. On an average, we may use up to 5000 sheets of paper in a year. Most of the time the printed documents were thrown away after the purpose is met. So we made it ta habit to print both sides of the paper to reduce the number of sheets used for printing. Also we started to use the back side of the old documents for scrap paper or drafts.
- Save Power: Electricity is wasted unnecessarily by the corporate companies in abundance. It is a regular practice in most of the offices that computers remains turned on 24/7 even if the employees are not working. So at GSTi India, we asked our employees to turn off their computers when they leave the office after work. During short breaks, the computers are set to sleep mode which helped us cut down the consumption of energy. We also invest in energy-saving equipment such as computers, lights, printers, and monitors.
